Caspar David Freidrich: The Soul of Nature In-Person
Art Talk with Prof. Thomas Germano
Caspar David Friedrich (1774–1840) reinvented landscape painting by imbuing nature with profound spiritual and emotional encounters. A pioneer of German Romanticism, Freidrich and the romantics envisioned a bond between nature and the inner self. The exhibitions in Germany and the Met mark the 250th anniversary of the artist’s birth in 2024.
