NCJW Advocacy Event: Shoah

NCJW Advocacy Event: Shoah In-Person

Documentary Film. Directed by Claude Lanzmann

Guest Speaker: Dr. Bernie Furshpan, Holocaust memorial and Tolerance Center of Nassau County

This epic documentary recounts the story of the Holocaust through interviews with witnesses – perpetrators and survivors. Claude Lanzmann directed this nearly 10-hour documentary of the Holocaust without using a single frame of archive footage. Instead, he interviewed survivors, witnesses, and ex-Nazis (whom he had to film secretly since they only agreed to be interviewed by audio), asking for the most minute details to give a horrifying portrait of the events of Nazi genocide. We will showcase a part of the film.
