George Seurat systematized Impressionist color and achieved greater formal clarity by reduction to small dots sometimes called “pointillism.” Camille Pissarro also addressed the lack of clear form in Impressionism and through his art, created a bridge to Paul Cezanne and twentieth-century modernism.
