Gustave Caillebotte: Painting His World In-Person
An Art Talk With Prof. Thomas Germano.
One of the lesser-known exhibiting impressionists, Caillebotte was not only an important member of the Impressionist group, but he supported his friends Monet and Renoir, while engaging in other activities that became subjects of his paintings including rowing, gardening, and sailing. This exhibition, opened at the Musée d’Orsay in Paris in October 2024, and travels to L.A.’s Getty Center and Chicago’s Art Institute through 2025.
